The Mediterranean diet, designated by UNESCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity, is much more than a question of food. it is the synthesis of practices, skills, crafts, knowledge and flavors that the Mediterranean peoples have created over the centuries around the culture, to the collection, storage, preparation and convivial consumption of food. In that fantastic open air theater which is still the Mediterranean landscape today comprised between islands, sea and land.

In our exclusive workshop, we will try to talk about this story of cultural blends, visiting the old markets, the stage where this story is showed every day, we will meet the origins visiting the archaeological museum, we will taste the authentic flavors and spicy aromas. We will cook and discover the roots of Mediterranean culture, dietary values, hospitality, landscapes, in a word, the lifestyle that the ‘Unesco has included of’ humanity heritage.
In Palazzo Moncada, historic house opposite the splendid Piazza S. Domenico, we enter the cozy kitchen of BB22 Charming rooms & Apartments where the actor Chef Tommaso Caporrimo chef and the landlady Patrizia Marchetti entertain us for an informal cooking class organised by M.Laura Crescimanno travel consultant. After spending the benches Vucciria, we return to the kitchen to discover the secrets of the Sicilian home made pasta: Baked Pasta, pasta with sardines, busiate with anchovies or “Pasta alla Norma”, ending with a traditional Sicilian dessert, cannoli or jelly citrus, accompanied by a glass of excellent Sicilian wine.
